Meet Our Chemistry Tutor – Mr Alex Toh
Mr Alex Toh is one of the co-founders of Studious Minds Singapore and leads the Chemistry Regular Class Program at the centre. He is not only well-versed in the syllabus of various chemistry programs offered in different schools but also understands the requirements to excel in each of them. Students under the tutelage of our chemistry tutor, Mr Alex, display confidence in the subject and are well-prepared during examinations, allowing them to graduate with excellent grades in Chemistry.
Qualifications
Mr Alex graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Master of Science (MSc.) degree in Chemistry. As a chemistry tutor, he has been tutoring O-level Chemistry Tuition for more than 15 years and specialises in Integrated Program (IP) Chemistry, International Baccalaureate (IB) Chemistry, and GCE O-Level Chemistry. His efforts and effectiveness in teaching have earned him a “Teaching Assistant Award” while serving as a teaching assistant during his MSc. studies at NUS.
Teaching Experience
Mr Alex has been teaching chemistry tuition for the past 15 years and has guided many local and international students to excellence. He is well versed in the IP Chemistry, IB Chemistry, and O-Level Chemistry syllabus and has a wealth of knowledge in guiding students to excel in these subjects.
Mr Alex strives to make Chemistry fun and interesting for his students while providing them with an easy and structured way to learn Chemistry. As a firm believer that “Practice makes perfect”, Mr Alex provides different questions and examples to develop a flexible and systematic thought process in his students.
Many of his students benefited greatly from the additional practices, allowing them to easily apply what they have learned and enabling them to tackle challenging questions with confidence. In class, to ensure that everyone in his class has a good grasp of taught knowledge, Mr Alex goes the extra mile to check each student’s work before moving on to make sure that no one is left behind.
Mr Alex’s goal is not only to develop knowledgeable students but also to nurture them to become more caring and compassionate. He often shares interesting real-life examples linked to topics in Chemistry, such as the relevance of the subject in medical science, and how it can make lives better. He was also invited by MArshall Cavendish to publish Assessment Books and Revision guide under the latest syllabus.

At Studious Minds, students have the option to either attend lessons either through Home-based Learning via Zoom or physical classes at centre. Our centre is conveniently located in Central Singapore at United House, #05-02, 20 Kramat Lane, Singapore 228773. 5 minutes walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT / Plaza Singapura / Somerset MRT / 313@Somerset.

Students are definitely encouraged to attend their usual time-slot as much as possible. In the event students are not able to make it for their regular class for that week, they may schedule a make-up to attend another time-slot within the same week.
