Alex Toh
Qualifications
Mr Alex Toh is one of the co-founders of Studious Minds Singapore and leads the Chemistry Regular Class Program at the centre. He is not only well-versed in the syllabus of various chemistry programs offered in different schools, but also understands the requirements to excel in each of them. Students under the tutelage of Alex displays confidence in the subject and are well-prepared during examinations, allowing them to graduate with excellent grades in Chemistry.
Mr Toh graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Master of Science (MSc.) degree in Chemistry. He has been tutoring O-level Chemistry Tuition for more than 15 years and specialises in Integrated Program (IP) Chemistry, International Baccalaureate (IB) Chemistry and GCE O-Level Chemistry. His efforts and effectiveness in teaching awarded him a “Teaching Assistant Award” while serving as a teaching assistant during his MSc. studies in NUS. Alex was a research chemist prior to his teaching career. His previous research focus was mainly on cancer treatment.
Alex strives to make Chemistry fun and interesting to his students while providing them with an easy and structured way to learn Chemistry. Being a firm believer that “Practice makes perfect”, Alex provides different questions and examples to develop a flexible and systematic thought process in his students. Many of his students benefited greatly from the additional practices, allowing them to easily apply what they have learnt and enabling them to tackle challenging questions with confidence. In class, to ensure that everyone in his class has a good grasp of taught knowledge, Alex goes the extra mile to check each student’s work before moving on to make sure that no one is left behind.
His goal is not only to develop knowledgeable students but also to nurture them to become more caring and compassionate. He often shares interesting real-life examples linked to topics in Chemistry, such as the relevance of the subject in medical science, and how it can make lives better.

Jes Peh
Qualifications
Ms Jes Peh is one of the co-founders of Studious Minds Singapore and leads the Mathematics Regular Class Program at the centre. As she is profoundly knowledgeable in the syllabus of multiple mathematics programs offered in different schools, she is able to grasp the conditions necessary to lead students to excellence. Students grow confident in their ability under the care and tutorship of Jes, allowing her students to be well-equipped with the essential skills required to perform well during examinations conditions.
She has been tutoring Mathematics for more than 13 years and specialises in Integrated Program (IP) Mathematics, International Baccalaureate (IB) Mathematics, GCE O-Level Elementary Mathematics and GCE O-Level Additional Mathematics.
Friendly, approachable and encouraging, Ms Jes’s positive dispositions have endeared her to her students. Her uncanny ability to build a strong rapport with her students was evident from the immense positive student feedback. Ms Jes employs a systematic approach in her teaching to ensure that students are well-equipped with a strong mathematical foundation and develop the skills required to tackle difficult questions. She provides targeted challenging practices in class consistently to allow students to master concepts and gain confidence in their solving ability. Her flair in spotting exam questions is a part of her exam-smart strategy approach, allowing students to walk into the examination hall with the confidence and thought processes necessary to ace their exams.
To prepare her students to succeed in an ever-changing world, she endeavours to help students develop important skills and competencies, such as resilience and the drive to seek continuous improvement.
